Refugee Week-Exeter

Hands of Welcome –  Welcome Tree

We’d  like to thank Ben Bradshaw and all those who supported the Refugee Week event on the Quay on Saturday  25th June: ‘Leaving Home – Coming Home’ (organised by RSD).
Exeter City of Sanctuary were working with members of the public to create ‘hands of welcome’ to hang on our ‘Welcome Tree’.

The hands offer personal messages of welcome, support and friendship to refugees currently being offered sanctuary in Exeter under the Syrian vulnerable persons resettlement scheme. Children at Alphington Primary School were also involved in making hands.
